Godín joins Villarreal injury list

Villarreal CF must do without Diego Godín for the UEFA Champions League visit of Manchester United FC next Tuesday after the central defender suffered a left hamstring strain while on international duty with Uruguay.

Two-week recovery
The 22-year-old, who has made ten Liga appearances for Manuel Pellegrini's side this season, had to be replaced after just 19 minutes of his country's 0-0 draw with France in Paris on Wednesday and now faces up to two weeks on the sidelines. The news comes as a further setback to Villarreal after losing striker Joseba Llorente for a month with a right thigh tear earlier this week. Following Tuesday's visit of the holders, the Yellow Submarine – who share top spot with Sir Alex Ferguson's side – complete their Group E programme at Celtic FC on 10 December.
