I'm happy to have won this match, but we are yet to reach our goal. We also played well in our two home matches without having the luck against Bremen and Inter. It was different today, but after we hit the bar in the first half I feared it would be the same. Fortunately things went our way in the second half, and we should even have scored a fourth goal. Bremen gave up after we scored our second. We'll now continue to work hard to improve step by step. I think Inter will get through, leaving three teams left with good chances to join them – the race for second place is wide open. It might come down to the result between Anorthosis and Bremen, when we have a difficult game in Milan, but I expect it go to the final matchday.

Thomas Schaaf, Bremen coach
We're very disappointed that our performance didn't reflect what we expected from ourselves. I don't know why this has happened again; everything we put right at the weekend we couldn't repeat today. We didn't win the important balls, we simply ran with opponents rather than challenging them. Now we're bottom of the group with two matches to be played. There is still a chance to go through, but not if we continue playing like this. There have been worse results and matches in our Champions League history, yet this was a very sad day for us – especially as we had a good opportunity to move ourselves into a decent position to reach the next round. Tonight we can only congratulate Panathinaikos for their performance.
