The 18-year-old was hurt in a challenge with Sochaux's Stéphane Dalmat soon after coming on as a substitute, and while Dalmat was dismissed for a foul, Pjanić was forced off the field with what proved to be a fracture. Pjanić is certain to miss the UEFA Champions League Matchday 4 visit of FC Steaua Bucureşti on 5 November and must be considered doubtful for his club's remaining Group F fixtures. The four-times international, who joined Lyon from relegated FC Metz in the summer, was making his seventh Ligue 1 appearance for the French champions.
Better news
However, Lyon coach Claude Puel has had better news concerning Juninho Pernambucano and Ederson, who are fit again after minor knocks and should be available for Sunday's home game against Le Mans UC 72, along with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who has overcome a bout of flu. Lyon are second in Group F with five points from three outings.
