FC Internazionale Milano coach José Mourinho was unnerved by the performance of his players during the 1-0 win against Anorthosis Famagusta FC that moved the Nerazzurri three points clear of the Cypriot side, saying: "I don't care if we scored only once because we created many opportunities". Despite losing, his opposite number, Temuri Ketsbaia, admitted he was "happy because we played well" and is hoping his side can secure progress in their next two games at home.

José Mourinho, Inter coach
It was not a fantastic performance tonight but I'm very happy with my guys. We had the game under control; Toldo made only one save and I don't care if we scored only once because we created many opportunities. It's not always possible to always play the perfect game but I liked the approach of my players. We needed three points and we managed to earn them. Now our situation in the group is comfortable. Playing every three days is never easy, more mentally so than physically. I hope to play the last game of the group in December knowing that we are mathematically assured of first place.

Ketsbaia did a great job, his side are very organised. Even when they were 1-0 down they continued to defend, trying to risk everything only in the last 15 minutes. I don't think there will be many surprises in the group, the real challenge will start with the knockout stage. Esteban Cambiasso suffered a muscle injury. I'm a bit worried because he is a very important player for us but I hope it's nothing serious. He is very intelligent end experienced so he was quick to ask to be replaced as soon as he felt something in his leg.

Temuri Ketsbaia, Anorthosis coach
It's always difficult to congratulate the players when you lose but this time I want to do it. Inter are great side but I'm happy because we played well and we proved we can look any opponents in the eye. Now we have to work hard ahead of the second game against Inter but we are confident because we proved to be competitive. I think the two home games left are very important to us and we have to get the points we need to qualify in front of our fans.

Inter played well and deserved the victory. We could never have the players they have in Cyprus but what counts the most is that we proved we can play at this level. We have six difficult games in this group. Now we have four points but maybe they will not be enough even for third place. We have to try to earn as many points as possible and see where that gets us. We have played well in three games now, we have a good team. I thank the fans who have followed us this year, it was great to have 2,000 of them here.
