Hard work
The 27-year-old has been a key part of Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini's plans this season, having appeared in five of the Yellow Submarine's six Spanish Liga games and both their UEFA Champions League Group E outings. The injury will keep the former Hammarby and Rosenborg BK player out of his side's European double-header with Aalborg BK on 21 October and 5 November. Speaking after he returned to Spain, Eguren remained upbeat despite the setback: "It's the first injury of this type I've ever suffered and hopefully it will be the last. It's a pity I have to miss important games for my club but I have to get used to it and work as hard as I can in order to get back to full fitness as soon as possible."
