Senna sets out stall at Villarreal

Villarreal CF midfielder Marcos Senna has committed himself to the UEFA Champions League contenders until 2011 after signing a one-year contract extension.

The 32-year-old has played 150 league games since joining Villarreal six years ago and was a key member of Spain's victorious UEFA EURO 2008™ squad. The club's president Fernando Roig said: "Marcos is and will continue to be an important player in our team. He's central to Villarreal's next phase and wants to play here." Senna added: "I always said I wanted to continue with Villarreal and I am happy with this extension." The Yellow Submarine will find out their UEFA Champions League group stage opponents on Thursday.
