'Very happy'
The 21-year-old arrived in Athens on Tuesday for a medical and finally penned a five-year contract with the Greek champions last night. "I'm very happy to join such a big club as Olympiacos, who made a considerable effort to sign me. I want to thank the club for their patience and I'll do my best to repay them and the fans," said Diogo, who scored 25 goals in 61 league games for Portuguesa.

Huge test
Left-back Leonardo made the same move in January, while Olympiacos have signed two other South Americans this summer - Dudu and Leto. Diogo has represented Brazil at every level up to Under-20 and hopes to break into the senior fold. He will not be eligible to play when the Piraeus club entertain Anorthosis Famagusta FC next Wednesday needing to overturn a 3-0 deficit if they are to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage.
