The 25-year-old moves to Piraeus in an estimated €6m transfer, accepting a contract until 2011 with the Greek champions. Dudu came to Europe via Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol, playing first for Stade Rennais FC in 2004/05 before landing at CSKA. He won the Russian league in his first two seasons in Moscow as well as the 2006 and 2008 Russian Cups. Top scorer in Brazil's 2003 FIFA U-20 World Cup victory and a Copa América winner the following year, Dudu follows two compatriots in leaving CSKA – with Jô sold to Manchester City FC and Daniel Carvalho loaned to SC Internacional.
'Sad to say goodbye'
"It is sad to say goodbye to a club that brought me so many happy memories," Dudu told uefa.com. "A new stage in my career begins now. Olympiacos are the leaders of Greek football and they play regular Champions League football. I think I will progress here as a player." Olympiacos, who enter the UEFA Champions League in the group stage, have also taken Argentinian left-winger Sebastián Leto on a two-year loan from Liverpool FC.
