Midfielder Matteo Brighi has renewed his contract at AS Roma committing himself to the Giallorossi until June 2012.
Breakthrough season
Signed by Roma in 2004, the 27-year-old played his first game for the club last season and went on to make 24 Serie A appearances scoring one goal as his side finished runners-up to FC Internazionale Milano. Brighi started his top-flight career at Juventus before representing Bologna FC, Parma FC, Brescia Calcio and AC Chievo Verona and was capped once by Italy in 2002. Roma, who kick off their domestic league campaign against SSC Napoli, will enter the UEFA Champions League at the group stage.
