Chelsea FC manager Avram Grant received an unwanted headache on the eve of the UEFA Champions League final after left-back Ashley Cole hurt his right ankle in training at the Luzhniki Stadium.
Makelele tackle
Cole went to ground under the impact of a heavy tackle from team-mate Claude Makelele and stayed down, receiving lengthy treatment from Chelsea medical staff. After having his ankle heavily strapped, the England defender was able to jog around the pitch but his unhappy demeanour suggests his involvement in Wednesday's showdown with Manchester United FC may well be in doubt. In the 27-year-old Cole's absence, his likely replacement would be fellow England full-back Wayne Bridge.
