Arsenal FC right-back Bacary Sagna will miss the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool FC after being ruled out for at least three weeks with an ankle injury.

'Out for a while'
Sagna was injured soon after scoring Arsenal's goal in their 2-1 Premier League defeat at Chelsea FC last Sunday and, according to Arsène Wenger, "could be out for a while". The Gunners manager said: "He has an ankle injury. I don't know how long he will be out but I feel it will be three weeks at least. Five is [the worst-case scenario]."

'Completely disruptive'
Sagna is definitely sidelined for both legs of the Liverpool tie, on 2 and 8 April, after twisting his ankle – "a bad injury" and "completely disruptive", said Wenger. The French international defender, 25, has made 29 Premier League appearances and seven UEFA Champions League outings since moving to England from AJ Auxerre last summer.
