Madrid robbed of Robben for Roma visit

Real Madrid CF have lost Arjen Robben for the visit of AS Roma on Wednesday with a sprained ankle and doubts remain over Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Ankle sprains
The 24-year-old Robben suffered the injury during Saturday's Primera División victory at RC Recreativo de Huelva and will undergo further tests to ascertain the length of his absence. Meanwhile, his attacking compatriot Van Nistelrooy suffered a relapse in his recovery from a right ankle sprain picked up against UD Almería at the beginning of February and faces a fitness test. However, Royston Drenthe, Guti and Míchel Salgado are all back in the squad for the UEFA Champions League first knockout round second-leg encounter, when Madrid must overturn a 2-1 deficit.
