Chelsea FC coach Avram Grant laid down a marker of intent as he restated his belief that the English side can reach this season's UEFA Champions League final despite ending Group B with a frustrating goalless draw at Stamford Bridge. "We could have won 5-0," said the Israeli, whose counterpart Ronald Koeman bemoaned a lack of firepower as Valencia CF limped out of Europe.

Avram Grant, Chelsea coach
We continue to play good football and could have actually won 5-0. I thought Petr Čech played very well, he didn't have much to do but what he did he did very well. Paulo Ferreira also did very well. The players have had to adapt to a new style of football and training but you could see tonight they have a good attitude and are playing good football. It's a good feeling to finish top of the group but more importantly I'm happy with the style of football we played. We want to make the final this year and I think we can do it, but of course the other clubs in the competition also think they can do it. In the last 16 there are no easy games.

Ronald Koeman, Valencia coach
We had problems in attack and didn't create too much but we were playing a top side. There were points when we had chances, for example [David] Villa in the first half. Villa had a great game and I think we are getting better as a side. We tried to play on the counterattack but suffered when it came to the final ball. We swapped Vicente [Rodríguez] and Villa round to help improve the situation and that helped us get better as the game went on. We hadn't conceded in our last few games, but we've had seven, eight or nine players out injured this season and this has affected the team overall.
