Koevermans out of PSV match

PSV Eindhoven will be without top scorer Danny Koevermans for Wednesday's decisive UEFA Champions League Group G game against FC Internazionale Milano due to a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old Dutch international striker, who took his tally for the Eredivisie season to nine goals with a double against Roda JC on Friday, suffered the injury in training on Monday morning. Although an initial examination revealed no damage, the club decided that he would not play against Inter as they await the results of a second scan as coach Jan Wouters does not want to take any risks. The Dutch champions are third in Group G, a point behind second-placed Fenerbahçe SK, and must beat section winners Inter to have any chance of reaching the first knockout round for the fourth year running.
