Milan lose Jankulovski to knee blow

AC Milan full-back Marek Jankulovski will miss the UEFA Champions League visit of FC Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday due to a knee injury.

The 30-year-old played the whole game as the Rossoneri lost 1-0 at home to Empoli FC yesterday, but was in pain afterwards. Although club officials initially feared ligament damage, a scan revealed only a meniscus strain. Further tests are required to determine the extent of the injury, but Jankulovski will play no part in the European fixture as the holders look to get back to winning ways in Group D.
