Porto to wait on injured Bosingwa

A thigh tear will cause FC Porto full-back Bosingwa to miss qualifiers for Portugal and also makes him a doubt for his club's next UEFA Champions League tie.

FC Porto right-back Bosingwa is already a doubt for his club's UEFA Champions League trip to Olympique de Marseille after pulling a thigh muscle.

Price of victory
The 25-year-old injured his right leg during Sunday's 1-0 win at A. Académica de Coimbra – the Portuguese title-holders' seventh successive victory at their start of their Liga campaign. After he limped off in the 33rd minute of the match in Coimbra, the Portuguese international is expected to miss his country's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers in Azerbaijan and in Kazakhstan over the next ten days.

Marseille mystery
In addition, there will be a question mark against Bosingwa's availability for Porto's UEFA Champions League game in Marseille on 24 October. Jesualdo Ferreira's men began their Group A challenge with a 1-1 draw with Liverpool FC followed by last week's 1-0 win away to Beşiktaş JK.
