Cracked bone
The 35-year-old former Italian international, who has played three Serie A matches this term, fractured the second metatarsal bone during Inter's victory at Reggina Calcio on 20 October. He is likely to be unavailable for the Nerazzurri's three remaining UEFA Champions League Group G games, with his side topping the section going into the Matchday 4 visit of PFC CSKA Moskva.
Able deputy
Coach Roberto Mancini is expected to field third-choice keeper Paolo Orlandoni for Wednesday's match against Genoa CFC as No1 Júlio César is recovering from a back injury. The 35-year-old Orlandoni had to replace Brazilian international César at half-time of the weekend's goalless draw at US Città di Palermo. "Paolo always gives his best in training and I think he deserves to play," said Mancini. César, 28, should be fit to face CSKA on 7 November.
