Nasri to miss OM's Anfield affair

Olympique de Marseille's French international playmaker Samir Nasri has been ruled out of the UEFA Champions League trip to Liverpool FC due to a virus.

Olympique de Marseille's French international playmaker Samir Nasri has been ruled out of the UEFA Champions League trip to Liverpool FC on 3 October due to a virus.

'In hospital'
The 20-year-old, who was hospitalised on Saturday and missed the 2-0 Ligue 1 defeat at AJ Auxerre, has a virus which had started as a heavy head cold. He is expected to be unavailable for at least ten days. "He will stay in hospital until the middle of the week, at the earliest," said the club.

Beşiktaş scalp
Nasri played 88 minutes of Marseille's 2-0 home victory against Group A rivals Beşiktaş JK on Matchday 1. He has made 97 Ligue 1 appearances for OM, and was voted the French top flight's Young Player of the Season for 2006/07. Marseille will go to Anfield on Matchday 2 as the early group leaders.
