Free agent
Roux, who was without a club after spending last term with AC Ajaccio, has joined Lyon as a free agent. The experienced 34-year-old began his career at AS Nancy-Lorraine in the 1995/96 season before moving on loan to La Barrichone de Châteauroux after four years. The custodian then had a six-season stint as understudy to Ullrich Ramé at FC Girondins de Bordeaux where he made 19 Ligue 1 appearances. "It's a huge honour for me to commit to Lyon," said Roux.
Disappointing start
Coupet is out for four months after injuring his knee during training earlier this month and has been replaced between the posts by Rémi Vercoutre for what has so far been a disappointing start to their title defence. Alain Perrin's side, who begin the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League campaign in the group stage next month, have begun the season with two league defeats in four matches. The six-time French champions will also be without Hatem Benarfa for at least a fortnight after the forward sustained a thigh injury during his side's 2-1 loss at FC Lorient on Saturday.
