Rosenborg 'are not there yet'

Leading 3-0 from the away leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie against Tampere United, Rosenborg BK could be forgiven for feeling confident. But their coach Knut Tørum is urging caution, saying: "We are not there yet."

'Confidence'
The Norwegian champions were in fearsome form at the Ratina Stadium in Finland a fortnight ago. Two first-half goals in as many minutes from Miika Koppinen and Yssouf Koné proved a hammer blow from which Tampere never recovered. Koné completed the scoring nine minutes from time to leave Rosenborg on the brink of returning to the group stage. However, Tørum said: "We are not there yet. I have told the players that the tie is only half-won. Tampere are a good side, although after our victory over Vålerenga [IF] at the weekend, we go into the game with confidence."

Attacking options
Saturday's match finished 2-0 and included a 30-metre strike from Alexander Tettey that was timed at 104km/h. Abdou Razack Traoré impressed at left-back but he could be pushed into attack as Roar Strand (thigh), Mikael Dorsin (toe) and Steffen Iversen (cold) face late fitness tests. Ivory Coast teenager Traoré has excelled in attack before, scoring a hat-trick against FC Astana in the second qualifying round, and with Tampere pushing forward he may profit again.

Scoring onus
In Jari Niemi and Tomi Petrescu, the Finnish title-holders have proven scorers of their own – that pair accounted for their team's six goals en route to the third qualifying round. The onus will be on them once more in Trondheim, although it was Antti Pohja who struck a hat-trick in Saturday's 4-1 triumph over FC Oulu and coach Ari Hjelm believes many of his charges pose a threat. "We created three or four good chances at home to Rosenborg," he said. "In our last two league matches we have scored seven goals. Every player is capable of scoring."

No pressure
With Antti Ojanperä back, Hjelm has a full squad available and he says Tampere have nothing to lose: "We are not under pressure and the atmosphere in the camp is calm and balanced. We face a very difficult task, but we are looking for a win in Trondheim." Victory alone may not be enough to overturn the first-leg deficit yet it would represent a significant scalp for a side who have already beaten PFC Levski Sofia this season.
