Chmiest strengthens APOEL attack

Cypriot champions APOEL FC have signed Polish forward Marcin Chmiest ahead of their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie with FC BATE Borisov.

Cypriot champions APOEL FC have snapped up Polish forward Marcin Chmiest in a bid to bolster their attacking options ahead of their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie against Belarussian side FC BATE Borisov.

Multiple signings
The 28-year-old has joined on a two-year deal from Polish club MKS Odra Wodzislaw Slaski after spending much of last season at Portuguese team SC Braga. Chmiest scored 12 goals in 25 league games for Odra before making ten Liga outings with Braga. APOEL have been busy this summer with Portuguese midfielder Nuno Morais, Brazilians Emerson and Marco Tavares, and Macedonian goalkeeper Jane Nikoloski all arriving. Brazilian midfielder Evilasio Leite da Costa will also be offered a three-year contract should he impress coach Marinos Ouzounides in training.
