Lazio bolster midfield with Meghni

S.S. Lazio have signed French midfielder Mourad Meghni from Bologna FC for an undisclosed fee and expect to officially unveil two other arrivals shortly.

'Little Zidane'
Former French Under-21 international Meghni, nicknamed 'Little Zidane' during his days at the Clairefontaine academy, joined Bologna in 2001 aged just 17. After gaining Serie A experience he spent the 2005/06 campaign on loan at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard before returning to Italy to take a regular playmaking role at Bologna last term. Bologna will retain 50 per cent of the 23-year-old's playing licence. Bonetto, 28, started five Serie A games for Lazio last season.

Further signings
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has also said that Serbia Under-21 left-back Aleksandar Kolarov will arrive from OFK Beograd, with Argentinian right-back Lionel Scaloni, 29, to follow on a free transfer from Real Racing Club Santander. Lotito, whose team will enter the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round after finishing third in Serie A, said: "We have already signed Simone Del Nero, Kolarov, Scaloni and Meghni and are trying to sign two more."
