Kaká keeps the faith for Milan

Kaká insists there is no "need for desperation" as his AC Milan side prepare for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg in Germany, having drawn 2-2 at home against FC Bayern München.

In one of his regular diary pieces for the uefa.com Magazine, the Brazilian international is adamant that his team are not giving into despair despite conceding two away goals at San Siro last Tuesday and handing the German champions an important advantage ahead of Wednesday night's return at the Fußball Arena München.

Historic meeting
"I don't think there's any need for desperation," said Kaká. "As much as Bayern deserve respect, not only because of their history but also because of the quality players they've got, Milan can win in Munich. I have a feeling the duel there will be one of those historic European nights." Milan twice let one-goal leads slip in the home match, much to Kaká's chagrin. "We had victory in our hands against Bayern and the fact we let it slip through our fingers with the last kick of the game meant we didn't leave the San Siro with smiles on our faces," he admitted.

Positive attitude
Milan have won one, drawn two more and lost another against Bayern in Munich in the past, and the 24-year-old sees reason for optimism this time around. "We are convinced we can outplay them in front of their supporters," he said. "By 'can', I don't mean we will, but it's important for us to keep our heads up." Leading the goalscorers' ranking for the competition with seven strikes, Kaká will have further cause to be at his sharpest, although he added: "Goals are scored for the team and I want to score more to take us further and further. If a team-mate scores a series of hat-tricks, it's not a problem for me at all."
