PSV Eindhoven's injury crisis seems to be receding with the news that Jefferson Farfán and Arouna Koné could both be back within days.
Tough week
The Dutch side have endured a tough week with their injury-hit squad suffering a 3-0 defeat against Liverpool FC in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the PSV Stadium on Tuesday.
Farfán strain
Peruvian striker Farfán was injured in that game but an MRI scan has revealed that he suffered a strained hamstring muscle instead of an earlier-feared tear. The 22-year-old will miss the Eredivisie match against NEC Nijmegen on Saturday, but could return for Wednesday's return leg against Liverpool at Anfield.
Koné returning
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast forward Arouna Koné has participated in training again. The 23-year-old has been out with a knee injury since the UEFA Champions League match at Arsenal FC on 7 March. Barring any recurrence of the injury, he is expected to make Saturday's game.
