Liverpool FC defender Fabio Aurelio is likely to miss the rest of the season after being carried off towards the end of the UEFA Champions League victory at PSV Eindhoven with a suspected rupture of his achilles tendon.
'Terrible injury'
The 27-year-old Brazilian left-back was taken off with 15 minutes left of Liverpool's 3-0 quarter-final first-leg win at the PSV Stadium, and Rafael Benítez believes the injury is a serious one. "We played well, it was an organised and effective performance, but we are all more concerned about Fabio," said the Reds manager. "It was a terrible injury. We believe it is very serious although we will not be sure until after a scan when we get back to Liverpool."
