FC Internazionale Milano will be without Argentinian defender Walter Samuel until 2007 after he suffered a thigh strain in Sunday's 2-0 win against FC Messina Peloro.

The 28-year-old former AS Roma and Real Madrid CF defender has played 12 times in Serie A and made three UEFA Champions League appearances this season but will now miss the remaining domestic league games ahead of the Christmas break, against S.S. Lazio and Atalanta BC, as he rests his right thigh. The Nerazzurri are top of Serie A, seven points clear of second-placed Roma.
