Second-choice goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle has agreed a three-year extension to his contract at Valencia CF that will bind him to the Spanish club until 2012.
Extended deal
The Frenchman's initial deal was due to expire on 30 June 2009 but he has accepted an extended deal even though he has made just one Primera División appearance in three seasons at the Mestalla Stadium. The 23-year-old joined Valencia from his first club, FC Metz, in 2004. "Both parties are satisfied with the renewal," he said. "I'm aware that I'm in a difficult situation if I want first-team football with Santiago Cañizares doing such a great job. If I don't get to play then I'll look for other solutions but I'll always try my hardest to play for Valencia."
