Hunt signs Bremen extension

Werder Bremen's Germany Under-21 striker Aaron Hunt will remain with Thomas Schaaf's side until 2010 after he extended his contract by three more years.

Werder Bremen striker Aaron Hunt has extended his contract with the Bundesliga outfit for a further three years until 2010.

'Exceptional talent'
General manager Klaus Allofs was particularly pleased with the agreement, as he views the German Under-21 international as an integral part of Bremen's future. "Aaron has once again proved his exceptional talent on the pitch this season and is an essential element in our team," said Allofs. "We are proud that another young player has come through the ranks to become a full-time professional with us."

Hunt delight
Hunt, who has been with Bremen since 2001, added: "This is confirmation for me that, after a long-term injury last season, I have done well. The season is going very well and I hope I can continue that form and add a few goals to my tally." The 20-year-old has scored five goals in 13 Bundesliga games this term for second-placed Bremen. He is also a regular in the UEFA Champions League and will hope to feature when Thomas Schaaf's side travel to FC Barcelona next Tuesday needing to avoid defeat to qualify for the knockout stages.
