Setback
The German international, 21, injured his right ankle in a training ground collision with Mark van Bommel at the end of October and was initially ruled out for three weeks, only to suffer a setback when he was set to resume full training. Podolski will now link up with his team-mates again tomorrow and although the weekend Bundesliga fixture against VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach may come too soon for him, Inter are definitely on his horizon.
Draw needed
Podolski scored when Bayern won 2-0 at the San Siro on Matchday 2, and the German club need to avoid defeat on home soil to top Group B and progress to the 15 December draw for the knockout rounds as one of the seeded teams.
