AS Roma have signed Chilean midfielder David Pizarro for €6.5m from fellow UEFA Champions League contenders FC Internazionale Milano.
Four-year contract
Pizarro, 26, who has signed a four-year contract with the Gallorossi, went back on his initial refusal to leave Inter, who will continue to co-own the player. He will be reunited with his former Udinese Calcio coach Luciano Spalletti, having joined Inter from that club in 1999.
Hard decision
"It isn't easy leaving a club like Inter, but the desire of the Roma owners, the coach and the staff helped me change my mind," said Pizarro. Both his new and previous club will be involved in Thursday's UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco.
