Serbo-Montenegrin champions FK Crvena Zvezda have brought 23-year-old Brazilian striker Ely Tadeu to Belgrade on a four-year contract.
Brazilian experience
The forward was a trainee at CR Vasco da Gama and also represented Olaria FC and FC Baraúnas in Brazil as well as Leixões SC in Portugal. He played alongside former Crvena Zvezda midfielder Dejan Petković at Vasco da Gama and says the 33-year-old, now with Fluminense FC, described the Belgrade team to him in glowing terms.
'Great things'
"I accepted Crvena Zvezda's offer because I heard so many great things about the club," said Ely Tadeu. "I respect them as former European Champion Clubs' Cup winners and hope we finally make it to the UEFA Champions League group stage. Football in Serbia is almost the same as in Brazil so I will acclimatise fast." A Brazil Under-17 and U20 international, Ely Tadeu is Crvena Zvezda's second major summer signing following the arrival of Blagoy Georgiev.
