Sneijder, who came up through the youth ranks at Ajax, signed his first contract in 2000, and has already played 116 first team matches for the club, scoring 30 goals. He made his debut on 2 February 2003 in a 6-0 Eredivisie victory against Willem II. Sneijder has scored twice in three UEFA Champions League appearances for Ajax this season.
'Ajax heart'
"I still have the feeling I can learn more here, and I have an Ajax heart," said Sneijder, who has been capped 20 times by his country. "I was a champion with this club [in 2004] and I want to have that experience a few more times. This team can still improve a lot, so I will stay with Ajax."
