RSC Anderlecht have signed promising Argentinian striker Nicolás Frutos from CA Independiente.

Long-term deal
The towering 24-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Belgian First Division outfit, and will join on 15 November, although he will be ineligible to play until the New Year. It will be Frutos's second spell in Europe, following a period in the Spanish Segunda División with UD Las Palmas in 2003/04.

Difficult spell
His 18 games at the Estadio de Gran Canaria brought just a single goal, but the former CA San Lorenzo de Almagro forward rediscovered his scoring touch on his return to his homeland after joining Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. He scored seven goals in 17 games for the side, attracting the attention of Buenos Aries giants Independiente, whom he joined at the end of 2004.

Prolific form
He has scored 19 goals in 28 games since arriving in the Argentinian capital, and believes he is now ready to return to Europe, and Anderlecht. The Belgian side have struggled to score this season, and are currently on the brink of elimination from the UEFA Champions League after failing to register a single goal - or a point - from their first three Group G games.
