Youth signing
The 22-year-old's existing deal was due to expire next summer, but the new terms - backdated to start on 1 July 2005 and running for four seasons - secure the future of a player who arrived at Anderlecht in 1998 following spells at KS Haasrode, Oud-Heverlee Leuven and Racing Jet Wavre.
Recent breakthrough
De Man broke into the first team in 2002 but before this season, had made only 12 Belgian league appearances. However, coach Franky Vercauteren, who knew him from the Under-16 side, has given the youngster his chance. De Man has played three league games and two UEFA Champions League qualifiers already this term.
