The 29-year-old was delighted to join the Istanbul giants after two sensational seasons at Konyaspor which have earned him a place in the Turkey squad. "I have arrived at one of the biggest clubs in the country," said the five-times capped forward. "We have been talking about this transfer for ten days and I'm really happy the talks have ended positively. Playing in the Champions League is also very exciting for me, it's a dream for any player."
Beşiktaş days
Zafer played for Beşiktaş JK, Yeni Salihlispor, Sekerspor and Göztepe before arriving at Konyaspor, where 43 goals in 67 games over two years prompted the Superleague champions to bring him to Istanbul.
