Ferguson resigned
The 30-year-old limped off 13 minutes into the 3-0 win in Hungary and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the right-back will be missing for "four to five weeks". That would rule Neville out of Champions League Matchday 1 and leaves him doubtful for the second round of fixtures.
England loss
The news is also a blow to national coach Sven-Gorän Eriksson, with England days away from a FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header. England, who lost 4-1 to Denmark in a friendly last week, face Wales in Cardiff on 3 September before travelling to Belfast to play Northern Ireland four days later, as they chase a place in next summer's Germany finals.
