Goalscoring farewell
The former Czech Under-21 international has signed a four-year deal and follows old team-mates Petr Lukáš and Karol Kisel to Sparta. Slepicka, 23, top-scored for Liberec last season with seven league goals. He added two more on his farewell appearance in Saturday's 5-1 UEFA Intertoto Cup second round first-leg win against Beitar Jerusalem FC. Although he took part in that competition, it was at an early enough stage for him to be eligible for Sparta's UEFA Champions League bid.
New-look squad
His transfer fee is thought to be close to the domestic record €1m that Sparta paid for Szilárd Németh in 1997. Sparta coach Jaroslav Hřebík, whose team start their Champions League campaign in the group stage, has a raft of new players to pick from when training resumes this week. Along with the Liberec trio, defenders Adam Petrouš and Zdeněk Pospěch have also been added this summer.
