Chelsea and Barcelona fined

Chelsea FC and FC Barcelona have been fined following incidents at the end of their match in London on 8 March.

Throwing of objects
After the final whistle of the first knockout round second-leg tie in London, Chelsea supporters threw a number of objects down on to the Barcelona supporters in the tier below, who in turn threw some half-empty water bottles towards the Chelsea players as they were leaving the pitch.

General commotion
Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard was provoked by a member of the Chelsea staff blowing kisses at him following the home team's victory, resulting in a general commotion involving players and officials.

Both clubs fined
UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body handed a €13,000 fine to Chelsea because of the unsporting conduct of their official and the improper conduct of their fans. Barcelona were also fined €3,206 for their supporters' involvement in the incidents.
