Nine face yellow peril

Nine players will be walking a disciplinary tightrope in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Five in danger
Liverpool have five players needing to tread carefully when they travel to Chelsea in the first leg. Jamie Carragher, Steve Finnan and Xabi Alonso, who all featured in the 0-0 draw at Juventus FC which earned the English club a place in the last four, are a yellow card away from a ban, along with Stephen Warnock and the injured Dietmar Hamann.

Defensive caution
Chelsea, who overcame FC Bayern München to reach this stage, have concerns over just four of their squad although a couple of bookings could seriously hamper their plans before the return on Tuesday 3 May. Defenders Ricardo Carvalho, William Gallas and Glen Johnson, plus midfield player Aleksei Smertin, will all have to be on their best behaviour or risk missing out when the action switches to Anfield.
