Champions League goals
The 23-year-old Chelsea captain agreed a four-season deal in July 2003, but since then has helped his club to a second-place Premiership finish and this term has scored three goals in helping the west Londoners secure first place in UEFA Champions League Group H with two games to spare.
New deal explained
Terry said: "I have been here since I was 14 and I would love to stay at Chelsea for the rest of my career and hopefully I will do that because I love playing for the club." He added that the arrival of José Mourinho as coach helped him make the decision. "He has been a key figure in it really," Terry said. "He has come in and he has made me the club captain this year, so on the pitch things are going well."
