FC Barcelona's promising midfield player Andrés Iniesta has extended his contract with the Catalan club until June 2010.
Buy-out fee
As well as adding four more years to the 20-year-old's deal, Barça have more than doubled his buy-out fee to €60m to put off potential suitors, including Saturday's opponents Real Madrid CF. "I could not be happier - this is a dream," said Iniesta.
'Mind at ease'
"I have always wanted to stay at this club for a long time and it looks like that will happen," he continued. "The new deal puts my mind at ease. I have gained the confidence of the club, the coach and my team-mates. When you are comfortable at a club there's no need to move."
Spain captain
The captain of Spain's Under-21 side, Iniesta was signed by Barcelona as a 12-year-old having played for Albacete Balompié's cadet team. He made his senior debut in the 4-0 victory against RCD Mallorca in December 2002 and has featured in all four UEFA Champions League games this season.
