'Special bond'
The 31-year-old has added 12 months to his previous deal, which was due to expire in 2008. Inzaghi, who joined Milan from Juventus FC in 2001, said of the agreement: "This new contract confirms the special bond that I feel with everyone involved with the club. I am looking forward to playing for Milan until 2009 - it's a great day for me."
More surgery
However, Inzaghi's contribution to the Rossoneri cause is set to be limited for some time. The Italian international will undergo an operation on his left ankle on Monday, after surgery last April and further medical treatment carried out in August failed to cure the problem. Inzaghi has managed only six appearances this season, two in the UEFA Champions League and four in Serie A. He last played in the 1-0 win against FC Barcelona on 20 October.
