Crucial goal
The 27-year-old midfielder was hurt during the first half of the 2-0 Eredivisie victory against AFC Ajax on Sunday, although he continued after the break and even scored the home side's second goal before being replaced in the 58th minute. Subsequent tests have shown a tear within the knee and he is expected to be out for three weeks.
Arsenal aim
De Jong will be missed by group leaders PSV for the visit of Rosenborg next Tuesday, having also struck a late winner in the 2-1 triumph in Norway on Matchday 3. However, the Dutch international could return in time to face Arsenal FC on 24 November.
