Passed medical
"I am very happy to get the chance to play for Rosenborg and get experience of the [UEFA] Champions League," said the 27-year-old after passing a medical in Trondheim today. Helstad's previous spell in Norwegian football, with SK Brann, earned him rave reviews and a move to Austria, although he did not prosper in the capital and was on the bench for just three of their seven games this season.
Group E
Rosenborg coach Ola By Rise said last week he was keen to add another forward to a squad that will contest Champions League Group E with Arsenal FC, Panathinaikos FC and PSV Eindhoven. The Norwegian champions, who are top of the Premier Division after 19 matches, are thought to have paid €650,000 for Helstad.
