Juve march into last 32

Juventus FC showed their class as they eased past Djurgårdens IF 4-1 in front of a packed crowd at Råsunda. The 6-3 aggregate victory put the Serie A side into Thursday's draw and left the Swedish team focusing on the UEFA Cup.

Nervous start
Juventus started off in formidable fashion against a Djurgården side that sat back and patiently waited for chances to counterattack. Any nerves the Juve players were carrying may have been eased when Alessandro Del Piero opened the scoring after just ten minutes but Kjell Jonevret's side were not about to lie down.

Touray beaten
Juve's opener came when Djurgården captain Markus Karlsson missed a sliding tackle on Ruben Olivera, who eased out to the right and flung in a delicate pass which Del Piero ghosted on to, catching the Djurgården defence unaware as he beat Demo Touray to make it 1-0.

Quick reply
The lively Tobias Hysén broke into the middle but shot just over the bar moments later - and he was involved in the Swedish side's equaliser on 19 minutes when he rounded Liliam Thuram and sent a ball zipping across the Juve area. Yannick Bapupa promptly picked up possession and set up Johan Arneng, who tried his luck and left Gianluigi Buffon helpless with a powerful 25-metre shot.

Trezeguet capitalises
The goal stunned the Juventus players, who struggled to get a firm grip on the game, despite some good chances afforded to Del Piero, Pavel Nedved and Trezeguet. Djurgården, at this stage ahead on away goals, looked comfortable - but soon paid for giving the Italian side too much space. After 35 minutes Trezeguet took advantage of careless defending by Toni Kuivasto and the Frenchman made no mistake as he blasted the ball in from mid-range.

Nedved finish
Jonevret tried to change the flow of the game by bringing on Abgar Barsom for Bapupa after the interval. But Djurgården failed to take control of the game as Juventus stepped up a gear. Nedved effectively sealed Juve's spot in the group stage on 54 minutes as he broke through a slow Djurgården defence and converted a classy Del Piero free-kick.

Late fourth
With Djurgården forced to score three further goals to progress, the Italians began to play more relaxed football and with three minutes remaining substitute Marcelo Zalayeta passed the ball into the middle where the unmarked Trezeguet made it 4-1.
