Doncic does a deal

Sliema Wanderers FC striker Danilo Doncic has agreed a new two-year contract that binds him to the Maltese double winners until 2006.

Impressive run
The Serbo-Montenegrin played for Valletta FC between 1994 and 1997 and, since returning to Malta with Siema in 2001 he has finished as the Premier League's top goalscorer for three seasons in a row, notching 69 goals in 82 appearances.

Eye on record
"I am very happy to be staying at Sliema for another two years," the 34-year-old told uefa.com. "After three successful years, I am looking forward to more success and winning the Premier League title for the third year running. I am also looking forward to a particular target - that of finishing topscorer once again. I have already done it four times in the six years I have played in Malta. Doing it five times would be a Maltese record.

'It will be difficult'
"I also think we can repeat our UEFA Champions League first qualifying round success of last season," he added. "Although I can assure you it will be difficult."

Champions league date
Doncic's new contract means that Sliema have kept hold of all three foreign players from last season. Nigerians Murphy Akanji and Orosco Anonam have also agreed new deals. Sliema face FBK Kaunas in the first qualifying round of the Champions League on 13 and 21 July.
