Young Boys relish Belgrade test

Finely balanced
It seems to be a finely-balanced fixture. Crvena Zvezda, champions of Europe in 1991, completed their eighth domestic double last season while Young Boys impressed in Switzerland by finishing as runners-up to an excellent FC Basel side. The fulcrum of the Young Boys team was Swiss international forward Stéphane Chapuisat, who scored 22 goals in 33 matches.

'Long tradition'
"This is the first time we have played against a Swiss team," said Crvena Zvezda's marketing director Zoran Avramovic. "They are not the easiest side we could have drawn. They have been champions of Switzerland several times and are a club with a long tradition.

'One step'
"The performance of the Swiss national team in [UEFA] EURO [2004] showed also that their clubs have great potential," he continued. "There are no easy opponents. But our aim is to go far in the Champions League this season and winning against Young Boys is only one step."

'Big name'
Reto Gertschen, sports director of Young Boys, said: "Crvena Zvezda are a big name in European football and we will have a very difficult two matches. Nevertheless, we are very happy to be staging at our stadium a match of high international level."
