The 50-year-old former Federal Republic of Germany and Hamburger SV midfield player has agreed a deal that will run until 30 June 2007, the Bavarian club said today on their website. Magath oversaw his last game as VfB Stuttgart coach on Saturday and replaces Ottmar Hitzfeld, who announced he was leaving Bayern last week. He will take charge of Bayern's pre-season preparations starting on 28 June.
