Aliadière adds to Arsenal worries

Arsenal FC striker Jérémie Aliadière is out for up to a month after suffering a knee ligament injury.

Arsenal FC striker Jérémie Aliadière is out for up to a month after suffering a knee injury on Saturday.

'Played well'
The 20-year-old French Under-21 international limped off during Arsenal's 4-1 Premiership victory against Middlesbrough FC. Manager Arsène Wenger said: "He played very well so the down point is the fact he has injured his medial knee ligament and will be out for three to four weeks."

Missing forwards
Wenger is also without forwards Dennis Bergkamp and Sylvain Wiltord through injury, while Nigerian Nwankwo Kanu is set to travel to the African Cup of Nations. When asked if he intended to buy a new striker in the transfer window, Wenger said: "There is money there but I hope not as I have good young players and at some stage you have to give them a chance."
