Yakubu earns new Ajax deal

AFC Ajax have extended the contract of Ghanaian international defender Abubakari Yakubu by one year.

Long-term deal
The 21-year-old Yakubu is now tied to the Amsterdam team until July 2006. He moved to Ajax in 1999, making his debut in April 2000 in a 1-1 draw against FC Den Bosch. To date, he has played 58 Eredivisie games for the club along with 12 matches in the UEFA Champions League.
